Marvel tried to replicate its Avengers success on the small screen by launching four individual hero shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) and then combining the characters in the crossover mini-series The Defenders, spending big for some A-list co-stars. The shows were popular, leading to one spin-off in The Punisher, but many fans didn't realize just how well-connected the various actors were to other famous people.
