Evie Totty: “It ruled.”

I loved the first one - even though when I saw the trailers I was like "a movie where no one talks? LAME".

I had my reservations about this one as well, given it was not planned when Krasinski came up with the first one.

Well it's clear to me now that the man is a triple threat (actor, director, screenwriter).

This movie has so many layers to it. I know it's billed as horror, but it's really a thriller with monsters - some of them human. And there were several points where I held my breath. And until Shang-Chi, it was the best movie I'd seen all year (not saying much, given the pandemic, but still).

Emily Blount continues to be amazing and Cillian Murphy reminds us why we fell in love with him in 28 Days Later.

But Millicent Simmonds is the standout. She deserves to have roles written around her. I hope her performance at least inspires more folks with disabilities to be written into stories. (I HATE that word, btw).
