When the phrase "rancid garbage" came up in conversation, my colleague Marlon suggested that it sounded like a mashup waiting to happen.

I wonder if someone will mix songs by Fiona Apple, Neneh Cherry, and Bananarama? I bet that'd sound better than a blend of Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Black-Eyed Peas.

Got any others?

Don't know what it says about my mind that one popped into my head in the shower earlier today:

Damn Yankees & Dixie Chicks

(Love the Who & Why combo, Kris...)

Denise Sawicki | October 7, 2007
My friend Eric had this "Who's on first" style joke he played on a younger friend who asked him what band he was playing.
Eric: "Who."
Friend: "Who?"
Eric: "Yes."
Friend: "Yes?"
Eric: "No, Who!"
etc. I don't know if that means "Yes" belongs in any of these lists though.

Amy Austin | October 7, 2007
Still... pretty funny.

Jacob Martin | October 7, 2007
Queen and Prince =) (and as a stretch you could add Elvis aka the king of Rock and roll)

Jacob Martin | October 7, 2007
My mother saw Great White White Lion and White Snake in concert in 1987 lol she told me after reading this

and adding to Scotts ELO Ac/dc Zappa and Mars volta they should be singing Electric avenue

Steve West | October 7, 2007
That reminds me of when I saw Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult in 1980 billed as the Black & Blue tour.

Joanne Martin | October 8, 2007
Jacob's dad saw Ratt and Poison and they called it the Ratt Poison tour

Steve West | October 8, 2007
That is funny.

Amy Austin | October 8, 2007
It is funny. I think it's actually the same tour that Tony saw... don't know why I (or he!) didn't think of it sooner! Maybe he isn't reading this discussion.

Aaron Shurtleff | October 8, 2007
What's funny is that all the bands of the 80's that I grew up on are being referred to a concerts that people's parents went to! Hey! I get it! I'm old!!!
