The goo game tournament will begin this Sunday, forgoing the usual week off at the end of the round. Whoever has the top 25 scores at midnight est on Saturday night will compete. It seems like almost everyone is either locked in or locked out at this point, with only the 25th slot up for grabs.

Rules will be the same as last time: Elimination for the first seven days, then timed competition to find a winner on the eighth day if necessary. (Thanks again, everybody, for the long discussions that got us to this compromise.)

Correct. Family (1323) begins the tournament.

I think you're right, especially seeing how many players guessed it correctly. I'll say more about it after it expires.

I was sorry to see so many regulars eliminated on Sunday because (I presume) they didn't know that the tournament was starting. I'm still working on the email solution. Other than that, this tournament is progressing the way every tournament should, which is a handful of players being eliminated daily until it's whittled down to a winner. I have tried to ensure that none of the goos this week could have anything to do with Steve's wife's pajama pants.

You mean Steve Dunn's wife, of course. But just for the record, they don't seem to have a connection to my wife's pajamas either. Yet.

I wish she'd had some Philosophy & Religion pajamas. I could have used them yesterday. That one was a head-scratcher for me...

34 second difference was enough. Congrats, Russ.

Scott Hardie | August 31, 2008
I salute both of you on making it to the end of a difficult tournament. Russ, you just joined a very small club of people who have won the game twice, so congrats.

I'll name the runners-up in a week, giving players a chance to raise their scores with these last few goos.

Thanks Steve, thanks Scott. I must say that I'm shocked that I pulled it off. At least this time I feel I earned it. I saw these comments about how easy the tournament was in the first few days and thought, "What's wrong with me". I struggled the whole ways through it. I thought I had it with 1328, and that was short lived. Thought I lost it yesterday, and got a reprieve. Today, I was thinking that my time would be thoroughly stomped. Wonders never cease. 34 seconds, very close.

Again I thank you.

Way to compel me into commenting with having finally put up a photo of yourself, Russ. Good to see you, at last -- how did you talk the wife into that???

You *must* know that I am much more sore about losing that Imelda than I was about being eliminated from the tournament -- it was like my glorious consolation prize -- and you stole it away in the last hours! That hurt!!!

Congratulations.

Way to rock the kareoke, Russ! And great job on the victory!!!

Yes, that's me, doing my rendition of that Heavy Metal Classic,,, Mandy, in the style of Barry Manilow.

Honestly, it is, I saw the full photo, and that's what's on the screen. But I did follow it up with War Pigs (Sabbath), if that's any consolation.

Thanks.

Congratulations, Russ. You deserve it!
