I'm weird.

I would MUCH rather get something that I can make something else out of, i.e. art supplies, tools, leathercrafting stuff, sewing stuff, etc, rather than jewelry.

Jewelry is nice and pretty, but I'm forgetful, and lose stuff. And I'm not terribly girly.

I think I'm the only woman I know who would much rather get tools for Christmas than jewelry that I will eventually lose and feel bad about losing.

Tools I could make my own jewelry out of an subsequently lose.

Ha. I'm the same way. Actually, I lost a diamond from my wedding ring just last week. It's probably stuck in our roomba or in our dog's digestive tract by now.

I like jewelry, but I prefer costume jewelry or vintage stuff with personality. Also, I like to be involved in decisions about large amounts of our $$. I'd rather take the money and go on vacation than be surprised by a big rock.

Yeah, not interested in jewelry here either. To an absurd extent, probably. I've worn necklaces before but I always wind up fiddling with them and breaking them. I've got a plain gold band for a wedding ring and that is all I've worn in ages.
