..ok, I didn't bring the metal...
So, opinion on the new Metallica song? :)

I'm very happy with it, though I can't imagine non-fans finding much to like about it. At the 0:27 mark, Lars's signature backbeat kicks in and it instantly feels like the boys never left. What do you think?
I'm apprehensive about the new album being 2-3 discs. This is a band that does not know the meaning of "less is more." Load and Reload would have been twice as good if they had cut half the songs and just made one album.

Hmmm... Interesting. I have only heard it the once, and I found myself slightly turned off by the drumming. I felt almost like when I heard it, someone had turned up the volume on just the drums, and it was too dominating. By the end of the song, I didn't notice it so badly, though, and I enjoyed it. I am kind of looking forward to hearing it again, to see if I still feel that way about the start. Maybe my hearing was funky (which it still sometimes is...leftover from the worst of the Bell's).
I'm feeling good about it at the moment. Can't wait for Unforgiven 5 is it now?

Yeah, that jackhammering intro is either the best or worst thing about the song depending on your taste.

You didn't ask about the video but I like that too. I wonder if the blur of faces going by is supposed to be of a theme with the album cover.

I have a bad feeling about this match right now...

Dang! Really hoping to lose U2. ;)
