US Festival: Dividing By Zero Records vs. Shorty Records
Theme

US Festival: Steve Wozniak of Apple personally funded a pair of music festivals about "us," to repudiate the "me" generation of the 1970s. The shows emphasized technology, and brought together major emerging stars of the 1980s, along with a few of their notable predecessors from the previous decade. Woz lost a fortune on the first show in September 1982 and tried again in May 1983, only to surrender further plans after losses of more than $20 million on two under-promoted, under-attended events.
