Scott Hardie: “It sucked.”

This cult favorite is well deserving of its reputation as one of the worst movies of all time, and one of the most unintentionally hilarious. The terrible script, the awful acting, the many technical flaws... This thing is a mess, but remains strangely captivating because of the real emotions driving it, drawn from Tommy Wiseau's own romantic history. This wasn't just some hack churning out 90 minutes of lame entertainment; he was trying to make a real and powerful film, and failed spectacularly. This kind of wonderful disaster can only happen by accident.

Scott Hardie: We had a great time seeing RiffTrax Live spoof this last night. Favorite riffs:

Lisa tries to force Johnny to drink
"'If you love me, you'll drink this.' Those are not words you want to hear Bill Cosby say."

transitional shot of San Francisco Bay
"After appearing in The Room, the Golden Gate Bridge jumped off of itself."

Johnny arrives home to his apartment with all of the lights off
"Oh hi darkness my old friend." − May 7, 2015 • more by Scott

Evie Totty: It was deliciously terrible. I found myself even riffing during the film.

I thanked RiffTrax for holding my hand during my first screening via Tweet and they rewarded me by following me on Twitter.

Extra Goodies are found here.

I did look up the actress and she is not an ex porn star. She's just some girl who just got to LA. Wiseau didn't let the actors see the whole script when he hired them.

There is one thing though: apparently people make fun of the fat on Lisa's body? When I saw her curves I was actually happy that a REAL woman was on the screen.

Scott Hardie: Good read. Thanks for sharing. It would never occur to me that they would call the actress fat; she doesn't look that way to me at all. People are so shallow. In the midst of everything that's so wrong with that movie, her weight is something worth complaining about? I'm glad that she has a good attitude about it.

Congrats on connecting with RiffTrax. We gotta see more. :-) − May 7, 2015 • more by Scott

Erik Bates: Relevant XKCD

"Widely hailed as the 'Citizen Kane of bad movies.'"

That line killed me. − May 8, 2015 • more by Erik
