I understand that the new rules means that an incorrect guess "torpedos" all adjacent blocks, including the diagonals now... but in the old game, you couldn't be penalized for pending guesses -- i.e., if you had an incorrect guess pending, it would not affect all other guesses made while that guess was still pending... unless I am seriously deluded in my memory here. So... even though I am clearly out of victory's reach this round, I just don't recall this change being announced, and I'm a little bit... well... pissed.

There is no such rule, Amy. A pending incorrect guess made at 1pm will not destroy a pending correct guess made at 2pm. I'd be pissed if there was an unannounced rule change in a game too. :-|

If you'd like, I can break down what happened with your grid (here or in email).

Sure... that would nice, because all those X's seemed to happen out of the blue... but I am not in the sharpest frame of mind right now, either. And now that I think about it, I don't think that the grid allows placement of a guess adjacent to a "pending" guess -- which I probably thought I was doing in order to minimize destruction, but in reality would not have been able to place those guesses, were they not also adjacent to established blocks. I don't know... I'm easily confused by the trivial these days. If you really do want to try and break it down for me right now... you can try. :-\ (And, yes, e-mail probably would be better.)

Email sent. You're correct that the site doesn't allow a guess to be placed next to a pending guess. I could program it I guess, but it seems too trivial. The easy way to get around it is to wait for me to approve your pending guesses, which isn't a perfect solution because sometimes I don't even go online for a few days at a time. (What the hell happened to me?)

Hope you're doing well otherwise. You don't sound too good. :-|
