For a little over a year, users have had email accounts here at the site based on an abbreviation of their name, such as agreg@... for Anna. Is anybody actually using theirs for any communication besides the announcements that I send out to the old mailing lists? I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask, since I'm soon to eliminate them. I can leave yours active if you want it. (shard@... will remain active for me, since it's only forwarding to my real email address.)

Nope.

No problem; I'll leave yours active.

Paypal gets on my nerves too. It's good that they're stringent about letting you add just any email address and bank account, but often they're so stringent as to be a high inconvenience. It took me forever to find an email address that didn't block their messages as spam — not all of their messages mind you, just the ones that authorize that receiving email address as a real one. What, do they intentionally put spam triggers into that message to ensure that their later messages will get through?
