I'm not stunned by the acquittal (no brainer), I'm stunned by the fact that this whole permanent trial finally ended. I figured he'd be in a nursing home forgetting his great-grandchildren's names before they actually wrapped this thing up.

The actual trial didn't take that long - it was the leading up the the trial that took a long time, and that's typical for most cases, from murder to burglary. The portrayal of courts on television and movies is lightning-fast. We were all following it closely at my office, and I even saw him when we took a field trip to the court system here in Chicago!
