Just last night, Arizona Republicans chose a new gubernatorial candidate from the Tea Party, because Jan Brewer is considered too moderate. (There has to be a brewing-tea joke in there somewhere.)

Even if you set aside the most obvious question, why a 9-year-old is being taught to shoot a gun, and the second most obvious question, why the 9-year-old's gun is an Uzi, you're still left with the third most obvious question: Why is live ammunition used when a submachine gun is placed in the hands of a 9-year-old, especially a 9-year-old who is still being trained to handle weapons at all? I know that blanks are frowned upon at shooting ranges for the obvious reason that you can't practice your aim, but this seems like an appropriate occasion for them.
