Pop-under ads finally seem to have died a long-deserved death from the public aggravation they caused, but their successor, the ad that floats over the text you're trying to read, has lately taken on an equally irritating behavior: Activating the ad when you click the "X" or "close" link. It's there to close the ad, you fuckers. I can't tell whether it's more annoying when clicking to "close" the ad opens that ad in the same window or launches a pop-up all by itself, but it's sure as hell not making me any more interested in the product being peddled.

God, yes. Yes, yes, and yes. Especially to the "X" that doesn't close the box -- I HATE that shit!

As people who spend as much time online as we do, I think this pet peeve deserves to be bumped up several thousand spots on the list.

For me, #9141 is the overspraying of produce at the grocery store.
