I almost interjected in the Roving Captions discussion, but then decided I should probably start another one...

Anyone else find this excerpt from news of his departure a tad funny...

Rove, speaking with reporters on Air Force One, said he had friends in all the Republican presidential campaigns but did not intend to take a formal role with any of them. "I do want to see this president succeeded by a Republican. I'll be happy to — you know, if they ask my opinion — I'm an opinionated person." On the Democratic side, he said Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton "is a prohibitive favorite to win the nomination."
Maybe I'm crazy, but doesn't it seem like "the boy genius" is trying to pull one more last-minute political gag before he leaves? Because a) the polls don't indicate any such thing, and b) if the polls are right, then why would he say such a thing?

*I* think it's because a) it makes him chuckle inside to try and say that with a straight face, and b) if Hillary really *isn't* the "prohibitive favorite" and yet this unlikely plug from the enemy secures her the Dems' nomination, then how much fatter would that make Turd Blossom's head grow??? And how much might "the architect" be banking on that to help secure a GOP victory in 2008...

Anyone else think this statement warrants great suspicion???

Well, I think every statement he makes warrants great suspicion.

Heheh... Exactly.
