The biggest news in the video game industry this week is the announcement of the "Phantom" game console. (article here) It comes from a three-month old company called Infinium Labs, which claims to be located on Longboat Key. But I've driven through Longboat Key many times, and there's not much there but condos and a golf course. The system, it is said, will download games as needed, and is cross-platform, so over 33,000 games are already available. Yeah. And the only thing missing is the words GIANT HOAX painted on the side of the machine. I'm surprised how many people are taking this seriously.
