According to a recent poll, about 20% of Germans believe that the U.S. government may have ordered the September 11th attacks. Here's the poll. When I read a link to this article in the first place, I was disturbed to notice that the link said "20% of Germans believe that the U.S. government ordered the September 11th attacks," omitting the word "may have." I wonder what else gets warped when people read about polls like this? And for that matter, does anyone know recent poll figures as to how many Americans think their own government may have been behind the attacks? I tend to prefer Occam's Razor over conspiracy theories, but I find them to be an interesting subject anyway.
