My mom doesn't want to pay $50 a month for DSL, but she's willing to try a cable modem for $30-35 a month. But AOLTimeWarner, her cable TV provider, doesn't offer cable modem access in Sarasota, only Tampa and Orlando. Strangely, they offer digital cable, with dozens of movie channels and over a hundred radio stations built in. How do I know this? My mom pays for digital cable TV every month, even though she doesn't use it. The only time that I know of in the past year when she watched TV was on the evening of September 11th.
