Alexandria: The Greatest City

This BBC documentary is fairly shallow. If you don't know who Alexander the Great is, this is the History 101 course for you. But it makes good use of feature-film footage to illustrate the time period, and the narrator's poetic descriptions of Alexandria's importance and tragedy are inspiring, especially in the conclusion.
