Evie Totty: “It ruled.”
I liked this film more than I thought I would actually. And most of that is because of the filming style. Usually that style - I forget what it is called, first person? - makes me nauseous but they did a very good job keeping that to a minimum for this film.
In case you don't know, this is the story of how a group of friends get super powers. And unfortunately for one of the members of the group 'with great power comes great responsibility' is more like 'absolute power corrupts absolutely'.
Your heart breaks when one of the members of the group dies in a horrible flying accident. And it breaks further when the last two are fighting each other. One because he can and the other because he is forced to be a superhero and save 'us'. Thing is he loves him and you can see the anguish. You can feel it. And you feel it with him.
It's an interesting look at how people might react when they suddenly can do things the rest of us can't. Probably more realistic. This review contains spoilers. Reveal it.
