Coming to America
1988
Discontented with his pampered life, an African prince heads to America to find someone who will fall for him, not his riches. Joined by his trusty sidekick, the prince plunges into a job at a fast-food chain -- and romance with the boss's daughter.

Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

Funny! Eddie Murphy's films were a document of the many caricatures of the 1980s. It seems like so long ago now that New York was that cartoonishly scuzzy. Think about how celebrated Murphy would be today if he had retired shortly after this film, the last in his hot streak in the 80s. Then again, Arsenio Hall effectively did retire after this.
