Evidence of Blood
1998
David Strathairn stars as Jackson Kinley, a successful true crime author who returns to his hometown and is soon drawn into the case of a murder committed 40 years prior -- a crime for which a man was long ago found guilty. Working together, Kinley and the convicted man's daughter begin to uncover evidence that points to a long-buried conspiracy -- a cover-up that may even extend to Kinley's own family.

Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

I stumbled upon this long-forgotten TV movie on Netflix and it's pretty good. Certain elements are predictable, but there's so much detail in the murder mystery to unravel that you can't see it all coming, and the movie has the intelligence to have the characters put together the plot at the same speed as the audience (or at least that was my experience). I can listen to David Strathairn and Mary McDonnell flirt in a Georgia drawl all day.
