This movie is probably about Shia LeBouf himself and his relationship with his father when he was an 11-year-old child actor. I can't say it is, because he isn't - but there are pictures of his actual father during the credits.
Shia plays his father in the film. And wow - I'm so glad he was sent to that rehab that is depicted in the film (but the character's name is Otis).
I actually felt honored that he let us see this part of his life up on the big screen, laid bare and raw. I'm so glad I got to see this movie.
