Scott Hardie: You're talking me into seeing it. I grew up with the toys and cartoon, but I'm also happy to leave them behind in my distant past. It was never all that good of a series anyway, with a slapdash approach to world-building and a, let's say, care-free attitude towards internal logical consistency. But Netflix's Sha-Ra remake was shockingly good, and I shouldn't be so quick to write off the post-Barbie potential in this movie. I guess I grew tired of the same exhausted culture-war debate about whether it's "woke" and avoided it reflexively, because (much more than Barbie) it had to reconcile competing audience interests, and I figured it wouldn't be up to the challenge. I'l reset my expectations and go in with an open mind. Thanks! 🙂 − July 24, 2026 • more by Scott
