Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”

I've enjoyed Please Don't Destroy's web shorts and SNL appearances for some time, so it was neat to hear that they'd been given a modest feature film in which to act even more silly. Their comedic approach, thin on character development while briskly churning out one absurd joke after another, works well in tiny doses but needs more fleshing out if they're going to attempt something of this size again. Rarely have the main characters in a comedy felt less like people and more like gag machines. That said, I did laugh several times at some of their wittier lines, and it was neat seeing so many of my favorite comedy figures turn up in small roles. Here's hoping that the trio gets another shot at a feature film and makes more of it next time.
