Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”
I described the first Zootopia as "minor but fun." Here's a sequel that's even more minor and even more fun. Without having to bear the weight of so much world-building, this one is more fleet-footed and breezy, and feels liberated to add as many animal jokes and character beats as it likes. The mystery that drives the plot is simultaneously too complicated and too predictable in a way that so many kids' movies are these days, but who sees Zootopia 2 for the mystery? Stick around for the cast credits to see just how many famous people were persuaded to record one line of dialogue each so that the writers could go to town making animal puns out of their names.
