I have noticed the movie industry already counting their receipts over Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia this winter. Kong is the 800-ton gorilla in the room, the blockbuster they aren't yet mentioning. I'll see it and probably enjoy it, but the fascination that King Kong holds for Peter Jackson (and Harry Knowles) eludes me.
