The Weekly World News is shutting down.

I feel very sad. I used to buy a Weekly World News every year before I went on vacation - in fact, I've looked for it several times lately and cannot find it. Maybe this is why. I will miss you, WWN.

Sniff, sniff!

What on earth will the MIB do now... the universe is not safe!

I know -- I was just about to say that (your comment preview stopped at "grocery line") -- I was much more interested in the latest Elvis sighting than in Oprah's Fat Club or in Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie, and the rest of the Bobble-head Gang... at least "Brangelina" has died down a bit.

My favorite story was the UFO on the aircraft carrier Nimitz during the 1st Persian Gulf War....the date was supposed to be August 16th 1990. It was import at that time and to me amusing because my squadrons airplanes were in the photo but at that time we were in Fallon Nevada...still I kept that cover for years

I think my favorite cover was "AL GORE MISSING!" with a picture of him on a milk carton. That was during his "after-failed-presidential-bid-with-beard" phase. I still have it, totally hysterical.

I was awfully saddened to hear about this. WWN was a one-of-a-kind entertainment. It gave my gaming group a lot of great adventures when I based a campaign on it. Comedy Central would be wise to buy the rights to it and produce a Daily Show-like version of it, or perhaps just use it to generate a weekly segment within The Daily Show.
