Let's see...moving to college, moving home. Moving to college, moving home. Moving to apartment in college, moving home. Moving to my apartment here. Hopefully within a year, I'll be moving again, to be with my sweetheart. So yeah, it's tedious. I can't imagine how it will be for me the next time, now that I own real furniture.

I hear you, Jackie! I moved twelve times in six years throughout college, and each time it became more of a burden. That's one of the reasons I'm trying so hard to keep this house despite the high rent: I don't want to move again; it has become painful by now.

You know when you've moved too often? When you're taking with you at least one large box of miscellanea that remains unopened since some earlier move. I have a box, cardboard with a garbage bag stapled to the outside, that was packed in 1996 and now sits in my garage; I think I've opened it three times.

Yeah, I had an especially large number of moves in college because I always worked at the college during the summer and they made me move into a separate dorm for the summer and then I'd move out and back to my parents' house for the final three weeks of the summer before moving into a new dorm for the next year. One year there was also an additional move in the middle of the summer because they wanted to shut down one of the dorms and clean it and move everyone to another one. Of course all these moves were executed by me and me alone, on foot.Still, none of these were anywhere near as annoying as the two times that I've had to move to a different apartment since I've gotten my own furniture...
