Just announced:

Josh Lucas stars in a modern adaptation of the classic Edgar Allan Poe story The Tell-tale Heart. A man with a new heart tracks down its origin. When he finds out the donor was killed, he searches for the murderer. The Scott Free Productions film is directed by Michael Cuesta with a script from Dave Callahan.
Is it just because I was an English major, or do the rest of you also bust out laughing at that description?

It...that's not a modern adaption..it's like...a really stupid sequel.

Really stupid.

I wonder if they'll adapt the subplots with the fast-talking computer-whiz sidekick and the mischevious-but-lovable dog? As I recall from Poe's original story, first the man's mentor takes a bullet for him one day before retirement, then the killer abducts his girlfriend and takes her to an abandoned machine-parts factory, where the men have a climactic duel ending with the villain's impalement through his beating heart.
