Next week I'll be alone in Atlanta on business, with an afternoon and three evenings to fill. At first I was excited to get away to a new city that I've barely visited before, but the more I researched things to do in Atlanta, the more it seemed like I was doomed to spend my evenings at the movie theater, same as I do anyway. I'm definitely not into bars or clubs, and there are no concerts the three days I'm there. The only comedy I could find was open mic night. I looked up local attractions, but the only one that holds any real appeal for me is the just-opened World of Coke, and I can't express how deeply sad that makes me. There is a Braves game, but I dunno – me, baseball? I can't find it online but I'm sure there's some kind of downtown tour I could take.

I guess that in my own cranky way, I'm asking for help, please. Any suggestions for mid-week activities in Hotlanta? No need to research for me, just wondering if you have any ideas for this particular city, or what you'd do if visiting any new city yourself. Thanks.

Georgia Aquarium has been on my list of things to see in atlanta should I even have a layover there (admittedly I am a huge aquarium geek) and it looks like they have Jazz on Friday evening too which could provide you with a bit of music. There is also a Zoo, Botanical Gardens and the Inside CNN tour to entertain you
