Yeah. Despite his age and health (no shocker there), I confess to being as surprised and saddened as when I heard about Heath Ledger. The day was sad enough already (at least for me) -- but I suppose that's as good a time as any? to hear more sad news???

Not my #1 favorite actor but definitely in the top 5. The Verdict is a classic and he had a touching role in a forgettable film, Fort Apache the Bronx and a very understated yet powerful turn in Absence of Malice. Dead at 83 after a losing battle with lung cancer.
