Reading about Anna's engagement kinda made me a little depressed. Not for her, but about my life. It is hard to meet someone. I will only date Jewish girls (which does make searching a little more difficult), but hear me out before you jump on me for being "racist" or anything like that. It is important to me for my family to share similar values and beliefs that I do, and by marrying another Jew it will make this easier. Many Jews feel this way.

My closest friends are all paired up, and many times I am the "3rd wheel" They try not to make me feel that way, but sometimes it does happen. I mean this is part of the reason I am trying to lose weight. Meeting a girl is easier if you look good. I know it is superficial, but hey, this is life. Anyone else in my shoes?

Also, if anyone knows any cute, single, SANE, Jewish girls in the NY area, let me know. :)

You mean white isn't right? Damn :-p
Anyway, I'm in the same boat as Scott Ho. I actually was almost involved with a non-jewish girl last year, but it came down to both of us seeing that it would never work in the long term (she believed in Jesus, and me not). I would never have a Christmas tree in my house, and we would never share religious views. Aside from that, I was thinking of doing some volunteer stuff at the local JCC or whatnot and maybe going to more stuff at the YMHA in the city.

I do know a judo-christian woman...

Is that a woman that practices karate on Sundays, Lori??? ;DDD (I'm picturing an Austin Powers sort of girl here... "judo-CHOP!")

I personally would not be one to give up on the internet. Without the internet, I would not even have a friend, let alone the guy I'm going to marry in, um, two weeks. Then again, this only goes to reinforce the notion that only weirdos are on the internet. :)

The internet has given me many interesting dating stories. I haven't given up on it, but I'm a little more cautious. I do know a lot of people who've had success finding great people to date online and that makes me think that it might not be so bad.

Scott told me about your marriage, Denise, congratulations! That's so exciting, and you must be in a whirlwind right now!

Amy Austin | February 10, 2005
Wow... and it was only a couple of weeks ago that she was clarifying that JF was no longer her beau... ;D (I know -- you just aren't the "announcing" type, Denise...;DDD) Congratulations!

Thanks, congrats to you too! We only got the idea to do this a few weeks ago and it is remaining secret to a few people, none of whom are likely to read here. Actually, things seem to be pretty well under control already! *crosses fingers for luck* It will be a very, very small ceremony...
