I am on the fence about watching it. On one hand, it's very popular and looks pretty good, and I've enjoyed Frank Darabont's other work. On the other hand, horror is not my favorite genre, especially when it's of the boo!-scary variety, and I hear that the show drags in the later seasons. Should I get into it?

The same could be said of Lost's little-loved third season. But that show became so devoted to rushing forward boldly with the plot in its later years that it almost completely forgot character development. Finding the right balance on a series like this is tricky to say the least.
