Four Replies to Halloween

Look in the discussion thread for GooCon and you'll see photos that were posted a few days ago. We've also had fewer kids each successive year for the last five years. That's a depressing trend but we did have more younger kids this year (5-6 years old or younger) than previous years. Maybe 40 altogether. It's disappointing when you only get surly teenagers all night like it seemed last year.

We'd like to have kids, but none ever come by. Takes the fun out of the night. Oh well; more candy for us.

I'll second that! (In fact, I think I made a point of belaboring this point a couple of Halloweens ago... especially those that have the nerve to show up without a costume!)

I wasn't home this year, but I seriously doubt that I'd have had any visitors even if I had been... my location is off the beaten path, and I like that. But while I was out and about with my friend, I did see surprisingly small numbers of people out with even more surprisingly fewer small children and/or costumes. Sorry, but I'm just not all about handing out the treats for the (too-?)big kids who can't be bothered to at least get tricked-out for them. Trick-or-treating goes both ways, in my opinion.
