I take it you mean the "Civil War" re-enactments? (Or War of Northern Aggression, as I've also heard it called...) Yeah, that hasn't really been my thing, but my brother-in-law was big into them. I guess it's one of those things you have to be into to find interesting. I can't imagine being a spectator for one of those, and I don't think I can be a very effective actor, so I won't participate either.

Knowing your background is amazingly cool. I know only half of my background, unfortunately. On my father's side, my grandmother is a dead end (she was a Ward of the State from birth, and had no idea about her birth parents (although she said she looked into it and couldn't find anything...I thought records like that had to be kept...They should have been.)) And my grandfather died before I was born, and from what little I've heard, I'm better off not knowing him. I'm still very hesitant to even ask my father about him, because the little I know indicates that he was a first class [EXPLETIVE DELETED]. It's kind of a family sore spot. I wonder if it's better to know or not know? *shrug*
