A Scanner Darkly
2006
Working as an undercover cop in a world where almost everyone is addicted to Substance D -- a drug that produces split personalities in its users -- Fred Arctor sets up an elaborate sting to nab a notorious drug runner named Bob.

Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

This unusual thriller isn't really about what you'd expect, its Philip K. Dick plot or its rotoscoped visuals or its war-on-drugs theme. It's really just about these peculiar characters and the ramifications of their moral choices. It's fascinating.
