Erik Bates: “It ruled.”
I went into this expecting some sort of re-hashed take on Close Encounters or (heaven forbid) Independence Day.
What I found was a thoroughly engaging, thought-provoking sci-fi movie with a twist I wasn't expecting, and that managed to keep itself hidden (at least to me) until near the end.
Oh, and that Max Richter opening. That song just gives me chills.
