Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

This film marks the point where the long-running MCU reaches peak intensity and peak saturation of characters. I can only guess how appealing it would be to non-fans, probably too busy and partially incomprehensible and at least still somewhat entertaining in its variety of action. But for a Marvel fan like me, it's terrific, a great roller coaster ride after ten years of anticipation. It's so rare for Marvel to have interesting villains worthy of their heroes, and this one so thoroughly dominates the movie as to become the main character. It must have been a hell of a logical challenge to figure out what to do with each of these heroes and storylines, but despite having dozens of named characters, the movie never once gets confusing as to who is where and what each character's motivation is. I'm impressed that the filmmakers pulled off what must have been an enormous creative, technical, and logistical challenge.

Evie Totty: “It ruled.”

Much like Scott, this is a fantastic culmination (1/2 anyway) of the past ten years. The screenplay was EXCELLENT. I read one blurb that said that there were too many jokes. I disagree.

It's hard to for me to really say anything about the film without spoilers, so I'll talk more in the movie of the month discussion.

As far as how people who haven't seen all the films previous or don't know much about the MCU - I did see it with people who have forgotten films or haven't seen them all (notably Phase 3 films) and they were fine.

Looking forward to A4 for sure.

NOTE: This review is after my third viewing of the film. I saw it in 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D. Was the 3D worth it? I wouldn't say that it is honestly. The biggest effect was a dude coming toward you and snow IMO. But it was still cool. IMAX vs regular screen? IMAX.
