Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Evie Totty: “It ruled.”
Arguably the best movie in the MCU. The Avengers was full of action and fun but this one is a spy flick that happens to have superheroes in it.
And Cap finally comes into his own I think here. He seemed like a big lug in Cap 1, was not the clear leader in Avengers but here. Here he showed off both his brains and his brawn.
And the action scenes - the first 8 minutes. The elevator, the plane. His scenes with the Soldier.
And the tie-in with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was fabulous. I liked going 'Oooooh so that's where he went' and then 'ooo can't wait to check out AoS to see what happens next'.
It's nice being in the midst of a franchise and not having to wonder if the story will continue. With Marvel slating pictures til '28 I think we have more great stuff coming!

Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”
Marvel pulled off its own superhuman feat by making this sequel kind of awesome, after the lackluster original and the growing risk of superhero fatigue. Focusing so much of the film on S.H.I.E.L.D. was a key choice, as it gave the film a refreshing spy-movie flavor; big plot twists and sudden reveals turned out to be exactly what the series needed. It figures out the right combination of greatest-generation hero worship, CGI-painted epic sky battles, and comic book in-jokes, aided by a sprawling cast of perfect character actors. This is not to be missed by anyone with at least a passing interest in Marvel movies.
