Erik Bates: “It ruled.”
A clear and apt social commentary. Fantastic cast, and sadly hilarious.

Matthew Preston: "Sadly hilarious" is what makes me hesitant on this film. I watched the trailer and ended feeling angry/sad/frustrated. I'm guessing that's what they were intending though. − January 11, 2022 more by Matthew

Evie Totty: “It ruled.”
I very much enjoyed this movie and hope it reaches the same kind of cult status as Idiocracy.
The thing is, the people who need to watch (and learn) from this - like Idiocracy - won't see it. And I hazard to say it might even be insulting for them.
But as a cathartic release, it's right on the money. It's downright terrifying watching how believable the events go down the way they do.
I can't even begin to go down the list of actors and comment on their portrayals - with the exception of Jonah Hill. He steals just about every scene he's in.

Scott Hardie: I haven't seen this, but I appreciate that somebody out there is screaming into the void just like me. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone. Idiocracy was an important satire (far more than it seemed at the time), but it wasn't about a threat as urgent as this, so the stakes feel different here. − December 27, 2021 more by Scott
Evie Totty: You are correct, the stakes are different, but the reason for the title is the link... − December 27, 2021 more by Evie
Scott Hardie: Like I said, I haven't seen this yet, but I know that it's been divisive with critics who say that it missed its mark. So I was amused that one critic proposed a new cut of the film that tightened up the movie's satirical message. − January 11, 2022 more by Scott
