Erik Bates: “It ruled.”
Daniel Craig has proven to be my favorite James Bond of them all, and what they've done with the progression of this version of 007 is amazing. With how this one ended, I get the feeling that they're going to do away with "James Bond" and move forward with "007" being the thread that connects everything. This review contains spoilers. Evie Totty: “It was ok.”
One reason why I gave it an "Ok" was because I spent a significant amount of time figuring out who the fuck Christolph Waltz's character was.
Another was because I'm not happy with Bond's fate. Ok, Craig is done, but he was what? The fifth? Sixth? Bond. There can be a seventh - no reason to put a nail in the coffin.
Billy Magnussen's character was ridiculous, but I guess I am used to a much longer lead-up to betrayal. He stank from the get-go, so it was no surprise.
Ana de Armas' character was amazing and I wish she had had a bigger part (even though she received top billing?). Rami Malek was fabulous as the villain, of course.
I will say that Craig's Bond has also been my favorite, as he seemed to be lacking the required sociopathic tendencies his predecessors had. Things affected him.
Worth watching? Yup. My favorite Bond film? No - but I'd be hard pressed to name one, because Live and Let Die was my first, and it is always what comes to mind... And I can't help but wonder if it was because it was my first. This review contains spoilers. Reveal it.

Erik Bates: Live and Let Die and Diamonds are Forever are the first two Bond films I ever saw, so, like you, they hold a special place for me, as well. − December 27, 2021 more by Erik
Scott Hardie: I probably saw some as a kid, but the first that I remember seeing and more or less understanding was GoldenEye, and I can confirm that it has a special place for me as a result, so that must be a thing. − December 27, 2021 more by Scott
