Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

My opinion may be skewed by seeing this without audio. From what I could tell, the plot was about a young woman with ice powers who gave her sister brain damage, causing her to be forever chipper and perky, and in despair turned their kingdom into Skyrim. Also there was a talking snowman, created for the toddlers in the audience who have trouble keeping up with the more complicated "good sister, bad sister" storyline.

The movie was gorgeous to look at, with superb attention to detail and dozens of complex facial expressions. The extreme changes that the story went through in its adaptation from Hans Christian Andersen were probably the only way to make this a successful movie for a contemporary wide audience. I have no idea if the songs were any good, but I have a feeling that I did myself a favor by muting the talking snowman.
