Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”
I really enjoyed this romantic comedy. Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, and J.K. Simmons are pros who know exactly how to play every scene just right. There's an unusual amount of darkness in this, but I appreciated the movie's honesty as its characters grappled with saddening events, rather than glossing over it like most rom-coms. That said, I could have done without a few Hollywood cliches.
Warning: The trailer and most online articles give away the true subject of the film. Avoid them! This movie is on Hulu; I recommend just watching it cold and enjoying the surprises as they come.

Erik Bates: “It ruled.”
I regret seeing the trailer before watching this movie. It truly does ruin the plot, but not the enjoyment of the film.
