It becomes pretty obvious during this low-budget sci-fi adventure that it was a failed television pilot that was repurposed as a movie. If you're prepared to accept the wide-open ending that leaves a half-dozen plot threads unresolved, it's not a bad genre flick, and might have even made a decent weekly show, barring the inevitable comparisons to Sliders. The cast is game despite some very weak dialogue, and the mysteries are genuinely interesting, or they were to me anyway. Here's hoping that the cast finds better work; Constance Wu already has. This review contains spoilers. Reveal it.
