Robot & Frank
Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”
A sweet little comedy about an old curmudgeon befriending his robotic helper. It's promoted as science fiction, but the documentary footage of real helper bots shown with the closing credits makes it clear that this future isn't far away. Frank Langella is great as always.

Evie Totty: “It ruled.”
The reviews I'd read going in were so-so (though obviously looking at Rotten Tomatoes I had not looked there as it is at 88%) and I did not expect to enjoy the film as much as I did.
It is a cute story basically about anyone's dad. But this dad happens to be a master thief who is getting senile. So his family sends him a robot to watch him - make sure he's eating and exercising.
What they didn't expect was for the robot to become his friend. The robot becomes a character you truly care about that can bring you to tears.
And for me there was a neat little addition at the end I wasn't expecting but I said to myself 'Of course!'
