Scott Hardie: “It ruled.”

This, at long last, is what I thought the previous Spider-Man movies should have been: A comedy. The movie is so crammed full of jokes and an improvisational spirit that it soars where its predecessors often slogged. DC seems to be taking its heroes So Deathly Seriously, but Marvel has a great sense of humor and has made that part of their house style, and now that the clown prince of Marvel's comics is part of their film universe, they've really let loose. Good for them. This is tremendously entertaining. I laughed from start to finish (all the way through the very end of the credits), and I marveled at how well-crafted it was -- not just the special effects, but also the really complicated storyline and world-building that never once felt too complicated. I cannot wait to see more.

Erik Bates: “It ruled.”

I'm glad they took the franchise this direction. This is who Spider-Man was supposed to be.
