Evie Totty: “It was ok.”

Ok I got to see this on IMAX 3D thanks to a free ticket from T-Mobile. And I'm glad it was free. I walked out of there going 'really?'

The story was soooooo lacking. So lacking. Robbie did a great job as Harley (even sans clothes) and Smith was - as usual - fantastic. The rest of them? I dunno. I didn't believe Kinnaman as a dude who would just blow someone's head off (even though he did). I didn't care how much of a bad ass Boomerang and Killer Croc were supposed to be - because we certainly didn't see it.

The special effects were OUTSTANDING though. Except for the part where the actress who played Enchantress did a really shitty job mouthing to the voice of the entity that inhabited her. I guess that isn't special effects - but still. Come ON. What happened to looping?

OH and speaking of 'what happened to' - what happened to The Joker he was in TEN MINUTES of the film. TEN. I couldn't really tell you if Leto did the character justice or not.

So yeah. It was ok. I liked watching Smith for sure. I wouldn't advise seeing it in the theater though. This is actually between an 'It Sucked' and 'It was ok'.

And I really, really wanted to like this film. I'm not a Marvel fangirl. I'm a comic book fangirl. I want them ALL to be good.

Scott Hardie: Judging from the advertising, it seemed a little too overstuffed with characters without really spending the time to develop them. I was surprised that the Joker was even in the movie, given that he doesn't seem to have much to do with the story, and Margot Robbie said that's why he wound up with so little screen time. I want to like this movie too, but the bad reviews really gave me pause. Marvel only barely pulled off Age of Ultron and Civil War having way too many characters; DC does not seem to have demonstrated the same deftness, so far anyway. − August 12, 2016 • more by Scott

Erik Bates: “It was ok.”

I had higher expectations for this film. It was good, but seemed very superficial. Not much character development. I won't go so far as to say I hated it, but this review was pretty on point.

Did I just break the rules by using a review inside my review?

Erik Bates: Haha! Actually, it was a typo that caused my link to not format properly.

But yes, your review was quite good, as well :) − August 15, 2016 • more by Erik

Evie Totty: Bahaha Eric you are correct! That was awesome! − August 16, 2017 • more by Evie
