On November 2, I'll be doing my fourth Extra Life event to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. I can't think of a more worthy cause to support each fall.

This year, my friend Wes and I will be playing the board game Terraforming Mars for 24 hours straight. It's an excellent strategy game, intricately balanced and scientifically plausible (it was created by a science teacher), and widely considered one of the best board games ever invented. (For several years, it was ranked #1 in the world on BoardGameGeek, the IMDb for games.) We love it and we're excited to play!

The point of our gaming marathon is to raise funds for cancer research and treatment. We've raised almost $2000 over the last few years, and we'd love to have your support to keep this going in 2024. This funding makes a lot of things possible for the children and families affected by this terrible disease. If you're able to make a contribution, we'd very much appreciate it. Any amount will help, large or small, and every dollar makes a difference.

I will personally match every donation, up to my ability to do so. Thus, your gift will have twice the impact.

If you make a large donation of at least $125, I'll send you a copy of Terraforming Mars, so that you can discover the fun of the game for yourself.

Please allow a few days for me to keep up with the incoming contributions.

You can donate on our team page. Please provide your name when doing so if you'd like to receive the reward.

Regardless of how much you give or whether you prefer to give anonymously, please know that I'm grateful to have your support! Thank you!

Done.

Thank you very much to our generous contributors! Steve, I'm grateful; your copy of the game will be on its way shortly. Someone else made a big anonymous donation (didn't want a copy of the game or just didn't want credit?) but whoever you are, it's really appreciated. This has been our most successful year yet in terms of fundraising and I'm glad to know that we can still do good for this worthy cause. :-)
