If you had to live in some other historical period, which would you choose, and why?

I think I'll stay out of this conversation. As a black person, the further I go back...the worse it'd get for me.

Maybe I'd like to go back to Africa before the boats came over. If not, I'd like to go back to I could see James Brown in his prime.

Well, just say that racism wouldn't be a factor - whatever community you lived in would love ya, and you'd have all your rights, etc. What then?

Most of the past I wouldn't want to live in - it's so dirty! Disease and poor sanitation, ick.

I'm curious about the wedding style - any particular reason, or you just like the look?

That's pretty neat. Make sure you get some photos in black and white!

About the only time I would choose would be maybe to be born in the early to late 40s. That way, I would have been an adult during the race to the moon. I remember that time as a child, but never had a chance to be involved other than just watching.

For the most part though, I really prefer living now at my current age. Go to far back in the past and you have a loss of information available at your finger tips, something that I really enjoy. Also, suddenly there are all kinds of modern conviences that we take for granted that are suddenly gone.

Oh say, medical advances! Electricity! Clean Water! Ok, maybe not so healthy, but at least we don't have a lot of nasty little parasites floating around in our drinking water.

Naw, I prefer the present day world thank you very much.

I would not live in any other historical time for all the same reasons stated above, but it would sure be fun to visit some. The late Victorian setting I use for FIN would be my first stop, but I'd love to see the Renaissance in full bloom, the American revolution, and the time of Christ two millenia ago. I'd also like to revisit 1980 and buy lots of stock in Microsoft.
