Kinda odd that the only Goo player with a correct answer so far for Goo 581 has a name that is a complete sentence. Coincidence?... I think not.

Scott Hardie | July 1, 2005
I think it's because he's a fan of that particular musician. But I could be wrong.

Steve West | July 1, 2005
Just for the record, I was kidding.

Scott Hardie | July 1, 2005
Yeah, whatever, Steve. You totally meant it. Next you're going to claim that all those goos in "Don't I Know You From Somewhere?" Week were named after players.

Steve West | July 1, 2005
Just seemed a little fishy. Baits. Get it? HaHaHAHAHAhaha. I slay me.

I'd like to mention that I did not intend goo 0581 to be anywhere near this hard. I originally wrote a much easier clue for it, but scaled it back to the more simple one here, since I figured that would be sufficient (considering the person is still recognizeable in the photo). I don't think I will share the original clue as a hint; instead I'll put up a batch of really easy goos in late July to make up for there not being enough really easy ones now.

Scott Hardie | July 6, 2005
So here we have a "medium" Music goo that is guessed by only four players, another "medium" Music goo that so far has been guessed by nobody, and a "hard" Sexuality goo that has already been guessed 19 times halfway through its run. Once again I must disclaim any ability to predict how hard these goos are going to be. I'm mystified.

Scott Hardie | July 6, 2005
Unless Amy has gotten all of you thinking like her and you're now suspicious of any goo labeled "medium." :-)

Amy Austin | July 6, 2005
Well, I certainly wouldn't blame anyone -- those "medium"s are some of the worst (hardest) I've seen!!! ;-DDD (If I didn't know any better, I'd think that they were designed specifically for me... ;-DDDDD)

Scott Hardie | July 7, 2005
Designed for you or not, by now we've discussed it so much that I can't help but think of you when I create one. :-) Lori has the distinction of creating a sort of niche difficulty for herself with her anime requests, but you're the first player to lay claim to an entire existing category of difficulty.

Amy Austin | July 7, 2005
Hahaha... that statement might just be begging for a comment from E... ;-)

Scott Hardie | July 7, 2005
On this subject of difficulty, I'll mention that today's new Music goo (0588) was originally much harder, but I swapped it out for a different celebrity and much easier image/clue because there have been so many unintentionally tough goos lately. So far, I've done a lousy job of getting this round off to an easy start like I promised.

Jerry Mathis | July 7, 2005
Ok, maybe it's just me, but I'm always a little disappointed when the goo for the day is really easy. I like to at least have something to help me kill 30 minutes or so, instead of 30 seconds.

However, I do understand the need for balance and after submitting my first goo, I can see how difficult it is to write the clue and figure out what difficulty rating it should have. It's tough.

Mike Eberhart | July 7, 2005
Yeah Jerry, I was a little disappointed in your goo too. It was too easy... :) Try harder next time.

Jerry Mathis | July 7, 2005
I'll get you Eberhart, and your little dog too!

Mike Eberhart | July 7, 2005
Ooooohh..... Scary!!!

Scott Hardie | July 7, 2005
If only I could run this site as a full-time job, I'd have one of each difficulty up each day.

Patrick Little | July 8, 2005
Well Scott...

You could start with a user fee...

That would only require minor modifications to the site...

LOL...

Scott Hardie | July 8, 2005
This is what I get for making a last-minute replacement on 0588 without checking the other goos: Two in a row that are gooed almost identically. Real smooth.

I don't know what users would be willing to pay in fees to use this site, but I imagine it's zero dollars a month for most. Besides, charging fees would mean I'd have to start delivering quality product.

Amy Austin | July 8, 2005
Ah, you should have just done 5 more and played it off as a sort of themed week, Scott! ;-)
(That's what I would do... ;-D)

Scott Hardie | July 9, 2005
I guess I could have. Right now I have more ideas for themed weeks than I know what to do with. :-)
